Acer griseum is also known as Paper bark Maple tree for obvious reasons, and is a fabulous tree first found in China. The bark is a golden brown colour that then peels off to create one of the most unique looking trees grown for its bark. It is a hardy small garden tree that grows very slowly, getting to no more than ten meters when mature. The canopy of the tree does not become overly dense, it produces small yellow flowers in April and May. It will grow very happily in all well drained soils, in partial shade to full sunshine.
