Cornus mas

- +

mas also known as the Cornelian cherry tree is a deciduous shrub or tree with small clusters of tiny, bright yellow flowers that arrive to cheer up the garden in late winter. To be followed by glossy red cherry like fruit. It is a great garden tree as it is small and has a very delicate appearance making it lovely looking plant. You can prune it early, so it is a shrub, it can be kept relatively compact and works well next to other speciman shrubs. It is hardy and just needs a lightly acid soil to be happy.
