Deutzia setchuenensis var. corymbiflora ex Kiftsgate NEW!
We think this is one of the best decidious shrubs, certainly for the amount of flowers you will get. Growing to 150-200cm if pruned well each year. This variant of Deutzia setchuenensis blooms In July and even in to August with an unbelievable amount of clusters of brilliant white flowers. It is very rare, from Guizhou in China and will grow to about two meters tall.
The plant is tough and very hardy against frosts, liking a lightly acidic soil. If the pruning is done well with attention to detail then Deutzia like others pruned in this group give the most back of all the shrubs. The new growth that comes after pruning from the base of the plant gives a vibrant and very attractive form. The stems form long uninterrupted growth from top to bottom, making lovely arching stems that bloom incredibly in Summer.
