Exochorda x macrantha 'The Bride'

- +

One of the great flowering shrubs in the garden, when it flowers in Spring it has masses of white flowers that make for a wonderful display. The pale green oval leaves means it has a good foliage for the rest of the year, and the long arching stems makes it a must.

This plant is tough and very hardy against frosts, liking a lightly acidic soil. If the pruning is done well with attention to detail then Exochorda like other shrubs pruned in this group will give the most back of all the shrubs. The new growth that comes after pruning from the base of the plant gives a vibrant and very attractive form. The stems form long uninterrupted growth from top to bottom, making lovely arching stems that bloom incredibly in Spring.
