Weigela florida 'Victoria'
'Victoria' has deep burgundy leaves that turn dark green as new leaves continue to emerge throughout summer. Flowers are bell shaped dark pink to red colour.
This plant is tough and very hardy against frosts, liking a lightly acidic soil. If the pruning is done well with attention to detail, then Weigela like other shrubs pruned in this group will give the back a very dramatic bloom. The new growth that comes after pruning from the base of the plant gives a vibrant and very attractive form. The stems form long uninterrupted growth from top to bottom, making lovely arching stems that bloom incredibly in Summer.
